The 24th Annual Mooneyes Street Car Nationals (SCN) was held on April 25, 2010 (Sun) in Odaiba, Tokyo Japan and within the event was the first ever Burnout Demo.

MOONEYES Pinstriper Hiro “WILDMAN” Ishii painted the sides of the red Camaro just for the show!

It was so amazing!! The Burnout Demo was a way for MOONEYES to promote drag racing in Japan. Although it’s been around for decades, it’s been shrinking over the years and now-a-days the closest dragstrip is in SENDAI, way up north in the mountains. The weather becomes a huge factor for the small group of people that go there. Other people don’t bother going. Can’t blame them, it so far! In any case, most of the spectator have never witnessed a burnout by a pair of drag racers in person. It was very exciting and the people that swarmed the makeshift staging area were blown away. It was a “one-time-only” special event but looking back now, it might be around again next year. There was also an award given to the chosen BURNOUT KING, so he will have to return next year to defend that title, right?!?

The famous Type1 Bugs in Japan. These guys are always racing in Sendai.

Have to admit, these no frills MOPARS are tough!

This yeller one was forced to put a brand new engine in before the demo. Apparently not broken in! But check out the wild Corvette. That was a show car in display at the Hot Rod Custom Show in 2009.
