About 1 hour and half drive from home in Orange County, I finally came to San Diego Qualcomm Stadium to attend the Big 3 Swap Meet. This year was the 40th anniversary for this event and had over 2,000 exhibitors came from local and far as Texas and Arizona.
I walked around as usual and tried to visit local San Diego residents Julio & Dan had shop. They were not selling stuff but had come out to enjoy with friends and displayed their race car that they were building for this years Bonneville Speed Week. Of course their target for this years Bonneville Speed Week is Class Record, Julio usually tells jokes but he told me in a serious tone about aiming for Class Record. We look forward for to seeing them at this summers Bonneville.
Continuing to walk with a little ache from my foot, I saw the Logo of 200 Mile Club. The 200 Mile Club is a club you can enter when you make over 200 mph speed record at Bonneville. Here they had Aluminum sheet Radiator Grille cover, Blower Belt, Flathead Valve Cover and wheels & tires with MOON Discs for sale. MOON Disc is must have item for Bonneville cars.
There was also an event for Type-II Volkswagens, called SOTO Meeting at Huntington Beach and a Vintage European event called LA All Euro Swap Meet & Car Show at Long Beach. There was a light yellow 356 Porsche displayed at All Euro Swap Meet. A Set of MOON Discs were on a scale model displayed on top of its roof. It would have been nice to see a set of MOON Disc on the displayed car.
